When is Eid al Adha 2017 (1438) ? - Makkah Calendar

We are very pleased to share with you that Dhul-Hijjah 2017 (1438) will start on Wednesday, 23^rd August in all countries of the world! Hence, the whole world will celebrate Eid al Adha 2017 on Friday, 1^st September 2017, Insha-Allah!




We invite you to take a look at the visibility curves for Dhul-Hijjah 2017 (1438).You will notice that the Dhul-Hijjah moon will be born very late on Monday, August 21 at 18:30 UTC. Hence, it will not be directly visible in any part of the world. As there will be no visibility of crescdent in any part of the world on 21^st August, Dhul-Hijjah cannot start on 22^nd August in any part of the world. We now invite you to see the visibility curve of 22^nd August. As can be seen in the curve, on 22^nd August, direct crescent visibility will be achieved in most countries of the Americas and the Africa. The countries where direct visibility is not achieved will be covered by the extension of the zone of the visibility. Hence, Dhul-Hijjah 2017 will start on Wednesday, 23^rd August in all countries of the world and the whole world will celebrate Eid al Adha 2017 on the same day, 1^st September 2017, Insha-Allah! The event is rare, and merits special notice.

Since Dhul-Hijjah month will start on 23^rd August in Saudi Arabia, Wuquf Arafat will be on Thursday, 31^st August.
