The Islamic (hijri) calendar is used by more than a 1.2 billion Muslims around the world to determine the main days of observance in the Islamic religious year, Ramadan is holy month of Islamic People. They fast from dawn to sunset as a devotion to the commandment of Allah.

The Islamic year (AH) averages 354 days and recedes by about 11 days a year against the Gregorian calendar. The first day of the Hijri calendar is 1 Muharram.

The journey of the Prophet Mohammed(Peace Be Upon Him) from Makkah to Madina is called Hijrah or Hijra, It is the starting of counting the Hijri(Islamic) new year, It was on 622 AD. The Islamic year is always designated with "H" Hijri or "AH" Latin word Anno Hegirae.
